Lesson 7: Using ExportYourStore’s ASIN Matcher to Find Your Products’ Amazon ASIN

The ASIN Matcher is a built-in feature that helps you search for ASINs from within ExportYourStore’s app, and match your products to an Amazon ASIN (if one exists). This guide will explain how to use the ASIN Matcher to map your products to the correct ASIN when importing them to Amazon.

We’ll start by selecting our source and target Amazon channel pairing, then navigating to “Products” via the left-hand navigation pane.

What Is an ASIN?

Amazon has its own catalog system for all products sold on its site, with a unique product identification code assigned to each one. This code is called an ASIN – Amazon Standard Identification Number. Whenever you list an item on Amazon, you'll need to either create a new ASIN for it, or match it to an existing ASIN (existing product page) if the item is already being sold on Amazon. Most items will already have an existing item for sellers to connect to. ExportYourStore's ASIN matcher tool helps you do this quickly, directly through the app.

How To Open The ASIN Matcher

Looking at our first product, we can see the status of the item is "Ready." This means that it's not yet listed on Amazon. To match the item to its ASIN and list it to Amazon, we'll begin by opening the ASIN Matcher.

We'll begin by clicking the ASIN Matcher icon next to the item:

This will open up the ASIN Matcher for this product.

How To Match a Product with an ASIN

Here, you can begin searching for your product using the free text box above. You can also search with product’s identifier if you have it (UPC, EAN, etc.), the product’s brand, or its MPN.

ExportYourStore will display the results of your search on the right-hand side of the ASIN matcher. Each result will have a “View Listing On Amazon” button, which will open the Amazon product page in a new tab, and a “List Now” button, which lets you match your product to the Amazon product and list it with one click.
