Lesson 6: Common Amazon Errors and How to Fix Them

Here are the most common Amazon errors and how to fix them:

Common Errors

Error 8016 – Product variation error. This error occurs when you do not provide complete information for a product with variations (referred to as a parent-child product relationship), thus rendering one or more of the variations of the product invalid.

Error 8026 – You’re trying to list an item in a category that you’ve not yet been approved to sell on. In order to sell on some categories on Amazon, sellers require approval prior to listing.

Error 90122 – Attribute value contains HTML tags, which are prohibited by Amazon. Remove HTML tags and generate your feed file again.

Error 20000 – Your product images cannot be imported because of an invalid image URL. Ensure that you’ve provided a complete and valid URL for all products.

Error 90117 – Value exceeds Amazon’s 2000-character limit.

Error 6000 – A series of errors pertaining to invalid or missing data. Read more about the various types of errors here.

Error 8059 – You’re trying to list an item that requires preapproval from Amazon. Contact Amazon for preapproval, or reach out to our Amazon onboarding specialists for assistance.
